In the very early hours of February 3, l2020, the Alberton United Methodist Church building was the object of vandalism and arson. Although the structure and upstairs sanctuary were left still intact, the downstairs was a total loss to fire, and there was extensive smoke and vandalism damage throughout the rest of the building.
While this was heartbreaking, especially in the loss of personal and community history, we are grateful to God that no one was hurt, that our building was still standing and repairable, that we had insurance to cover most of the damage, and for all the ways people and other churches have reached out in support - with prayers, offers of help, and financial assistance. Most of the reconstruction is done now, and the building is all sparkly clean and renovated! We are deeply blessed by your generosity. Thank you!
We're worshiping in the building at the moment, and will keep doing so as long as the COVID numbers stay low enough in Mineral County. So we hope you'll join us for
